Stay up on APHA’s 139th Annual Meeting with social media tools ================================================================ * Michele Late Social media will be in full force during APHA’s Annual Meeting. Attendees will be able to use the Annual Meeting Blog, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and other tools to access meeting news, activities and photos. Twitter users will be able to follow the Annual Meeting at @APHAAnnualMtg and @publichealth and via the meeting hashtag, #apha11. In addition to social media engagement, the meeting will offer a number of sessions on the topic. Of special interest will be an APHA-sponsored session on the “Role of Social Media in Public Health.” To be held on Monday, Oct. 31, at 4:30 p.m., session 3417 will offer tips on using social media to relay health messages and feature speakers such as Miguel Gomez, director of [AIDS.gov](http://AIDS.gov), and Erin Edgerton, director of new media and strategic communications at the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy.
