## Learning disabilities

Author and filmmaker Quinn Bradlee in June re-launched “[FriendsofQuinn.com](http://FriendsofQuinn.com),” a website that serves as an online community and learning hub for young adults with learning disabilities. Online at [http://www.friendsofquinn.com/](http://www.friendsofquinn.com/), the site offers expert advice, news, resources, tools and more.

## Mental health rights

The World Health Organization in June launched the WHO QualityRights Tool Kit. Countries can use the toolkit to assess and stop violations against the rights and dignity of people with mental health conditions. The toolkit, available at [http://www.who.int/mental\_health/publications/QualityRights\_toolkit/en/](http://www.who.int/mental_health/publications/QualityRights_toolkit/en/), stresses the importance of hygienic and safe living conditions and the promotion of independent living though employment and education.

## Influenza

The National Council on Aging in June announced its new initiative, Flu + You, an educational program that aims to educate older adults and their caregivers about the dangers of influenza and the importance of immunization and vaccines. ## Cancer app

UBM Medica US in June released a new iPad app, “Cancer Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach.” Online at [http://mediakit.ubmmedica.com](http://mediakit.ubmmedica.com), the app provides clinicians with up-to-date information on cancer care, as well as regular research updates throughout the year.

## Patient rights

The Joint Commission in June released the seventh episode of its “Speak Up: Know Your Rights” series. Online at [http://www.jointcommission.org/multimedia/speak-up-know-your-rights/](http://www.jointcommission.org/multimedia/speak-up-know-your-rights/), the animated video series stresses that everyone has the right to be informed about their care, make decisions, have their pain managed and be treated with respect.

## Public health careers

The Association of Schools of Public Health in April launched a new app to help prospective students explore career possibilities in public health. The new app, “I am Public Health,” online at [www.iampublichealth.org](http://www.iampublichealth.org), provides responses and insight from more than 2,000 public health professionals.
