## Edith named dean of college of public health

APHA member Edith Parker, DrPH, MPH, in June assumed her role as dean of the University of Iowa College of Public Health. She was previously a professor and chair of the university’s Department of Community and Behavioral Health.

## Ward named senior director of finance and administration

APHA member Laurie Ward, MBA, in June assumed her role as senior director of finance and administration at the Brown University School of Public Health. Laurie was previously the assistant vice president for budget, planning and analysis at the university.

## Hyder named senior associate dean, professor

APHA member Adnan Hyder, MD, MPH, PhD, in August assumed his role as the senior associate dean for research and professor of global health at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health. He is the founding director of the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit.

## Benjamin receives Scroll of Merit Award

APHA Executive Director Georges Benjamin, MD, in August received the National Medical Association’s Scroll of Merit Award, the organization’s highest honor. Benjamin was recognized for his ongoing work to improve health and medicine.

## Remley named senior fellow

Karen Remley, MD, MBA, MPH, FAAP, in August joined the de Beaumont Foundation as a senior fellow. She was previously the CEO of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

## Coté named chief health officer

Elizabeth Coté, MD, MPA, in May joined the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality as chief health officer. She was previously the clinical director for the Micmac Service Unit at the Indian Health Service.

## Frazier named dean of school of nursing

Lorraine Frazier, PhD, RN, FAAN, in September joined Columbia University as dean of the School of Nursing, the Mary O’Neil Mundinger, DrPH professor of nursing and senior vice president of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She was previously a professor and dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

## Rispel elected global public health association president

Laetitia Rispel, MSc(Med), PhD, PG Dip, in May assumed her role as president of the World Federation of Public Health Associations, making her the first African to hold the position. Rispel is the Department of Science and Technology/National Research Foundation chair of the South African Research Chairs Initiative in Research on the Health Workforce for Equity and Quality at the University of the Witwatersrand.

## Wolff named director, professor

Jennifer Wolff, PhD, MHS, in May assumed the roles of director of the Roger C. Lipitz Center for Integrated Health Care at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Eugene and Mildred Lipitz professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the school. She is also affiliated with the Johns Hopkins Center on Aging and Health and Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research.
