As soon as health officials in El Paso County, Colorado, learned of a suspected measles case in early January, they began investigating who may have been exposed to the highly contagious disease. Shortly after, the state public health lab confirmed a measles diagnosis, while the public health investigation eventually found more than 300 people who were possibly exposed.
