Now is the time to save your spot at APHA’s popular Policy Action Institute.
To be held June 17-18, the institute brings health professionals together to help chart new paths for effective public health policy. Institute participants will come away from the event with actionable ideas to advance health equity and support public health in their communities.
Now in its sixth year, the event will be held both in-person in Washington, D.C., and live online.
The first day of the institute features public health experts, elected officials and policymakers, who will share their experiences advancing public health policies. Speakers will explore how they have used AI to improve public health, worked with lawmakers to craft sound health policy, applied tactics from other industries to public health work and more.
The Policy Action Institute’s second day will focus on applying practical learning to policy. Participants will interact with experts and learn strategies they can use to fine-tune their professional and personal advocacy work.
“Workplace protections, anti-discrimination laws, vehicle safety regulations and so much more would not have come to fruition if health advocates hadn’t forged policies to create them,” Susan Polan, PhD, APHA’s associate executive director for public affairs and advocacy, told The Nation’s Health.
Policy Action Institute attendees will have the opportunity to learn from one another during networking sessions. Registration discounts are available for APHA members.
