It is almost time to start turning those dreams of presenting at APHA’s Annual Meeting into reality: Abstract submissions for APHA’s 2022 Annual Meeting and Expo open Feb. 1.
To be held Nov. 6-9 in Boston and online, APHA 2022 will focus on “150 Years of Creating the Healthiest Nation: Leading the Path Toward Equity.” Presenters are encouraged to share information related to the theme, but abstract submissions are welcome on all areas of public health.
“As the COVID-19 pandemic has shown, achieving health equity is a pressing priority for the nation,” Donna Wright, APHA’s manager of scientific session development, told The Nation’s Health. “We look forward to sharing scientific insights on the topic, and to celebrating APHA’s 150th anniversary together.”

Program planners from APHA’s Sections, Special Primary Interest Groups, Student Assembly, Forums and Caucuses will select the presentations that will be offered during the meeting’s scientific sessions.
Thousands of abstracts for posters and research papers are submitted for each Annual Meeting. The abstract submission deadline is April 30. Submissions, which are welcome for both oral and poster sessions, are limited to 250 words and learning objectives are required. Anyone can submit an abstract, but presenters must become APHA members and register for the Annual Meeting if their abstracts are accepted. Abstracts are accepted through the online submission form. Presenters will be notified by email in June if their abstract has been accepted.
