  • Why did your health department decide to apply for accreditation? What issues or gaps in capacity did you hope accreditation would address?
  • What were the biggest challenges to achieving accreditation? For example, did your staff automatically embrace the process? Was it difficult to fit accreditation into an already full plate of duties and responsibilities?
  • Part of the accreditation process involves gathering feedback about a health department’s strengths, weaknesses and areas in need of improvement. What were some of the most surprising findings that emerged from that process?
