Chi named Pediatric Dentist of the Year

APHA member Donald Chi, DDS, PhD, in March was named Pediatric Dentist of the Year by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Chi is an associate professor of oral health sciences at the University of Washington School of Public Health.

Todd named president and CEO

Jeff Todd, JD, MS, in April became president and CEO of Prevent Blindness. Todd previously served as the organization’s CEO.

Keramidas named executive director of association

Sherry Keramidas, PhD, FASAE, CAE, in May became executive director at the American Occupational Therapy Association. Keramidas previously served as executive director of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.

Staley named global malaria coordinator

Kenneth Staley, MD, MPA, in April was named global malaria coordinator at U.S. Agency for International Development. Staley previously served as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Bell named senior vice president, CIO

Akira Bell in April was named senior vice president and chief information officer at Mathematica Policy Research. Bell previously led the information technology function for a division of Aramark.

Savitz appointed associate dean

David Savitz, PhD, in April was appointed as the inaugural associate dean for research at the Brown University School of Public Health. Savitz is a professor of epidemiology.

American Pharmacists Association Foundation elects new board members

The American Pharmacists Association Foundation in April announced new elected board members. Eleanor Vogt, PhD, RPh, was named president; Megan Tucker was named vice president; Troy Trygstad, PharmD, PhD, MBA, was named treasurer; and Anjanette Wyatt was named director. Tim Canning; Laura Carpenter, JD, RPh, LLM; Tom Menighan, ScD, MBA; and Steve Simenson, FAPhA, DPNP, will also serve on the board of directors.

Booth named new director

Sarah Booth, PhD, in February was named director of the Jean Mayer U.S. Department of Agriculture Human Nutrition Center for Research on Aging at Tufts University. Booth previously served as the interim director and served as the center’s associate director since 2009.

Wagner named national autism coordinator

Ann Wagner, PhD, in February was named national autism coordinator at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Wagner is the chief of biomarker and intervention development for the Childhood-Onset Mental Disorders Branch in the Division of Translational Research at the National Institute of Mental Health.

Parker named senior advisor

James Parker, MBA, in April was named senior advisor to the secretary for health reform and director of the office of health reform at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Parker previously served as the president and chief executive officer of MDwise Inc.
