Partnerships

Oxford University Press in May published “The Practical Playbook II: Building Multisector Partnerships That Work.” The book discusses building partnerships in public health, health care, housing, business and the faith community. The book is edited by APHA members J. Lloyd Michener, MD; Don Bradley, MD; Edward Hunter, MA; Catherine Patterson, MPP; and Elizabeth Corcoran, MPH; as well as Brian Castrucci, DrPH, MA; and Craig Thomas, PhD. HIV/AIDS

University of California Press in July published “Remaking a Life: How Women Living with HIV/AIDS Confront Inequality” by Celeste Watkins-Hayes, PhD, MA. The publication documents personal stories of how over 100 women with HIV/AIDS find hope within their community, confront systemic challenges and advocate for health justice and social transformation. Data collection

The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society in May released “Questionnaire Design: How to Ask the Right Questions of the Right People at the Right Time to Get the Information You Need,” written by William Moroney, PhD, MA, CPE, and Joyce Cameron, DMA, MA. The book serves as a manual for developing a quality questionnaire. For more information, visit www.hfes.org.

Genetics

The Lewis & Francis Group published in May “Routledge Handbook of Sport and Exercise System Genetics,” by J. Timothy Lightfoot, PhD, MA; Monica Hubal, PhD, MS; and APHA member Stephen Roth, PhD, MA. Measles

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in May published two digital toolkits for measles outbreak. One is for local and state health departments and the other is for health care providers. The resources include guidance in patient care, school exposure and vaccinations. Find the toolkits at www.cdc.gov/measles/toolkit
